Date : February 2003, Publication : Scifi.com London-based actor Julie Cox reprises her role as Princess Irulan from Frank Herbert's Dune. Cox, already a fan of the novel Dune, is a science-fiction fan in general.
During the time between production of the two Dune miniseries, Cox starred in a number of British and American film and television productions, among them King of Texas, which premieres on TNT in June; and the British films War Bride and Angel for May. She also starred in Film Four's Death of Klinghoffer, based on the opera composed by John Adams. Among her other television acting credits are David Copperfield for Hallmark; and Tears Before Bedtime and The Scarlet Pimpernel, both for the BBC. Cox is no stranger to the SF genre in the acting craft: she starred in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, for Hallmark, and appeared on the American TV series Tales from the Crypt. Her feature-film credits include Allegria, with the Cirque du Soleil; Woundings; and La Vie de Marianne for France's Arte. Cox also starred in the British production It's A Wonderful Life, which garnered both an Oscar and a BAFTA for Best Short Film. Cox is currently in London, filming a BBC production about Lord Byron, in which she will star as Lady Byron, opposite Johnny Lee Miller. Born in the United Kingdom, Cox has traveled extensively since the age of seven. She has lived in Indonesia, Australia, the Middle East and France. She has worked across the globe and is fluent in English, French and Sign Language. |
